How does this work? If you are interested in making a reservation please check the availability calendar first. Please use the reservation page to submit an inquiry. We will calculate your total rate and reply with our rental agreement. We require half of the total rate and a completed rental agreement to confirm your reservation. The second half of your balance is due when you arrive. We will email you a rental agreement. When we receive your initial payment and agreement we will email you directions and the combination to enter the property.
How secluded are these properties? Some of our properties are so secluded you can't see any other structures. From some other properties you may be able to see another cabin through the woods.
What are the roads like? This is mountainous property. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However there are many side roads that are gravel or hard packed dirt surfaces. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines and rough terrain. Most front wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing their property from these roads as long as you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars. During inclement weather such as snow or ice you may be required to have 4 wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.
Can I use a credit card? Yes, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Why don't you provide the address of your cabins? In a word, security. We don't want the world to know exactly where our properties are. We will provide the address if you make a reservation. To get an idea of where our properties are please use this address: 6045 Ida Road, Stanley, VA 22851
Where do I check in? Guests are provided directions and combinations. You may let yourself in when you arrive.
What is provided? We provide sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, toilet paper, and paper towels. The kitchens have hardware like plates, glasses, flatware, pots, pans, coffee makers, etc.
What do guests need to bring? Toiletries like shampoos, food, charcoal (if your property has a charcoal grill).
What about the picnic shelter at the pond? The picnic shelter is for all of our guests. Please limit your use to 2 hours if there is another group waiting to use it. If you would like to reserve a 2 hour period please post a notice at the shelter. There are picnic tables, a playground and canoes at the pond. Use of these is at your own risk.
